Welcome to our living room! After spending countless hours reading other decorating blogs, getting inspiration from Pinterest, and browsing the isles of HomeGoods, Pottery Barn, Pier 1, and Target (can't forget my beloved Target) amongst others, I present to you our little but precious space. This room has changed drastically in the last year and even as I type this post I can think of a few additions since I last took these pictures. Stay tuned for an updated living room tour very soon! I would be flattered if you came back for follow up posts. |
I hope you enjoy! |
I absolutely love the mirror in the corner. My husband and I found this mirror at World Market last year with the intention of adding it to our bedroom decor. I didn't quite like the look and moved it to our spare room. It served as my getting-ready-in-the-morning mirror for a few months, then finally made its way to our living room and I am so happy with the end result. I plan on showing you the move-in condition of our home, but that post will come at a later time. |
We owned a sofa set that was much darker in color when we moved in two years ago. My husband and I found this sofa set at Ashley Furniture last year and I really like how bright and light it makes our living room feel. It's interesting how simple changes can completely transform the look and feel of a room. The white decorative pillows are Target finds and the two smaller pillows came with another white sofa we purchased from World Market. |
This is another view of the same section. Here you can see the two white side tables which we purchased from Pier 1 while vacationing in Monterey earlier this year. It has become a little tradition of ours to stop by the Pier 1 in Pacific Grove. I always manage to find little treasures, so fun! It makes coming home exciting after leaving such a beautiful place - at least that is what I tell myself. :)
Found this adorable white coffee table tray at a local Pier 1 last year. I absolutely love this piece because this tray sparked my interest passion for white accent pieces and transformed my decorating style. One aspect I truly enjoy about blogging is seeing the style of other bloggers evolve just like mine! It's fun to see decorating styles evolve and spaces transform into awesome living spaces - especially when DIY projects are involved.
I put together this flower arrangement after seeing something similar at Pier 1 for $30. I didn't agree with the price tag so I practiced self control and didn't purchase it. My mother in law came across this vase at a church yard sale and with some rocks from the dollar store and a beautiful white dahlia -from Pier 1 - I was able to create a replica for $12!. It was so much fun putting it together and less expensive than Pier 1, major score! |
Here is a section of our mantel that I just love. I found the white distressed frame at HomeGoods a few months ago and I really like how it looks next to the peonies. This adorable arrangement was spotted at a local Kirkland. It's quite unfortunate how difficult it is to find peonies around here, it truly is my favorite flower. Actually peonies are readily available, but only at Whole Foods at an unattractive price. How wonderful fresh, real peonies would be...hey, a girl can dream, right?
If you made it this far, thank you for your time! I hope you join me on this new and exciting little adventure of mine. I am so thrilled to share my passion for interior decor with others just like you!
Thanks!
xoxo, Karina
