Danes imam za vas še eno skittlette manikiro. Skombinirala sem temno moder in zlatkast odtenek. Najprej sem palec in prstanec nalakirala z zlatim Beauty Uk lakom. Nato pa sem čez nalakirala še Essence nad lak, ki v prozorni bazi vsebuje rumenkasto zlate večje in manjše bleščice. Sredinec sem najprej nalakirala z belim Essence lakom, čez pa sem odtisnila vzorček iz šablone Konad m73 s črnim Konad lakom za štempljanje. Pri odtisu sem bila tokrat še posebej pozorna in previdna, da se je vzorček odtisnil točno na sredini mojega nohta. Manikiro sem nadaljevala še na kazalcu in mezincu, ki sem ju nalakirala s temno modrim Orly odtenkom. Na koncu sem nohte prelakirala še s hitro sušečim nad lakom.

Dr. Seuss Party Decor on a Budget!

Micah's first birthday is exactly one week away, and in honor of his upcoming birthday, I thought it would be fun to share the party decor I have managed to buy/make over the last few months.  Around the month of February we decided to go with a Dr. Seuss theme party for his first birthday.  We had a very small budget for his party, and I really wasn't sure if I was going to be able to pull this off.  A lot of times parties can get extremely expensive when a specific theme is involved.  Thankfully, by God's intervention, we scored some wonderful deals at Target, The Dollar Store, and Michael's.  

Pinterest was my go-to place for ideas and inspiration.  Most of his party decor is diy, and I can confidently say I truly enjoyed every single project.  Here is what we have for Micah's first birthday party.  

I really wanted to have a chalkboard info chart at his party.  However, the cost of a digital copy plus printing was not part of our budget.  So the next best thing was to make my own using my diy chalkboard and some Dr. Seuss paper cutouts.  I did have to buy a chalk pen but that was under $2.00 at Michaels.  Plus, I've wanted a chalk pen for a long time, so it's a win-win. 

I wanted a personalized banner and this was my idea of an inexpensive one.  The banner paper is from Michael's and the happy birthday sign is from the Dollar Store.  I simply cut the letters and taped them to the banner paper and voila!  

We needed white pom poms at his party and these were easy and so inexpensive to make.

The paper arrows was is an idea I found on Pinterest.  Super easy and cheap!

I wasn't sure what I wanted to do for the centerpieces.  Most of my ideas were going to cost me a bit more than what I had budgeted, so I thought of this idea and I really like it.  We are going to fill these vases with red vines.  The vases are from the Dollar Store and the Dr. Seuss hats are from Michaels.  These hats were on major clearance, I'm sure I paid less than $1.00 for a pack.  I simply used double sided tape to hold these in place.

I purchased a pack of Dr. Seuss book poster cards at Michael's for under $2.00.  I glued them to cedar wood shims which I had left over from my bookcase project, and used a can of white spray paint I had in our garage.  These will be used in the front yard.  

I wanted this quote displayed somewhere at the party.  I found an idea very similar to this on Pinterest.  I used what I had on hand to recreate it, and I really like how this turned out.

We will be using his Dr. Seuss books he received as a Christmas gift as party decor because why not, right?

We bought this Happy Birthday To You book and plan to have guests sign it.  The dry erase board is from Target's Dollar Spot.  This is another idea from Pinterest.  I love the simplicity of this project and the meaning behind it.  Micah will treasure this for many years to come.

I wanted blue pom poms but this specific color was tricky to find. So, I paid the money and purchased them from Party City along with these super cute labels.

Here are some miscellaneous items that will make it to the party.  I found the erasers and bookmarks at Target in their Dollar Spot.  I plan to incorporate them as party decor, but I don't know exactly how I'm going to use them just yet.  My sister makes delicious cookies which we will be giving away as party favors.  The cookies will be bagged and a small thank you  card will be attached to each bag.  

That's all we have at the moment.  I also purchased blue, white, and red balloons because every party needs to have lots of balloons.  Also, our cousin is excellent at knitting and she is making us some Dr. Seuss goodies which I can't wait to see!  I hope to have pictures of the party sometime next week, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

Primerjava: Essence Icy Fairy & The Glass Slippers

Ponovno imam za vas primerjavo dveh Essence lakov, natančneje nad lakov. Gre za nad laka imenovana Icy Fairy (Effect nail polish) in The Glass Slippers (Cinderella trend edition). Moram priznati, da nisem imela namena kupiti nad laka iz Cinderella kolekcije, ampak so me ostale blogerke s svojimi manikurami s tem nad lakom enostavno prepričale in takoj ko sem ga kupila, sem vedela, da ga moram primerjati z Icy Fairy.

Nad laka se po stekleničkah zelo razlikujeta. Kot sem že omenila je levo Icy Fairy iz redne linije Effect nail polish in ima jajčasto obliko stekleničke, desno pa je The Glass Slippers iz omejene trend kolekcije Cinderella in ima bolj valjasto obliko stekleničke. Količina tekočine je v obeh enaka in sicer 10 mL. Tekočina je na prvi pogled mogoče zares podobna, saj oba laka vsebujeta šimer in srebrne bleščice različnih oblik in velikosti, pa vendar se, če ju podrobneje pogledamo, razlikujeta ravno v tem. Nad laka imata tudi različna čopiča. Icy Fairy ima kratek, ploščat čopič, ki je spodaj rezan ravno. The Glass Slippers pa ima daljši, malenkost ožji čopič, ki je spodaj prav tako rezan ravno.

Essence-Icy Fairy (Effect nail polish):

Gre za nad lak, ki ima modro vijolično šimrasto osnovo in vsebuje holografske šestkotne bleščice, večje mat srebrne šestkotne in čisto drobne okrogle mat srebrne bleščice. Čeprav je v nad laku kar nekaj bleščic različnih oblik in velikosti, se jih na čopič zajame ravno prav za lep nanos čez noht v enem sloju.

Kako izgleda nad lak v steklenički si lahko ogledate na spodnji fotografiji. 

Essence-The Glass Slippers (Cinderella TE):

Ta nad lak pa vsebuje vijolično roza šimer ter je nabit s srebrnimi večjimi in manjšimi šestkotnimi mat bleščicami. Tako bleščic kot tudi šimra je veliko več v tem nad laku kot pri Icy Fairy. Zraven tega pa ta nad lak belo bazo obarva rahlo rumenkasto, kot lahko vidite na swatch-ih spodaj.

Nad laka sta mi oba simpatična. Vendar pa, če bi se morala odločiti za enega, bi vsekakor izbrala Icy Fairy, ki me ni v nobeni lastnosti razočaral. Za moj okus vsebuje The Glass Slippers malenkost preveč bleščic, ki se ujamejo na čopič in že en sloj izgleda preveč bleščičast. Moram pa priznati, da sta mi oba nad laka veliko lepša, če sta slojena čez črn lak, ker je tako šimer izredno lepo viden.
