ASK&TELL: Bullying?! How to and Not to

Bullying is something WE ALL deal with in our lives.
When I was growing up, bullying was everywhere from school to the streets.
Recently, my nephew was just bullied for being a little different by the way he answers the teachers questions and he's only 12 soon turning 13. I was really surprised and unaware because he is always so happy around me. I realized that it was probably harder for him to come tell me that he was being bullied since he is still young and afraid of being more picked on at school if he told a grown up. I was actually the first person he told and not too many days after, my other nephew told me that he was being bullied too.
The big question that they asked me was, "What should they do?"
These answers can relate to older and younger people. This can also help with even cyber bullying that is happening a lot more in our world of technology.

I notice that it's harder to know whom or when someone is getting bullied because they person being bullied is scared to say so like my nephews. I feel that it is important to listen and most importantly, be open-minded. This should kind of be step one because if you just assume right away, you forget what is really important which is making the person bullied feel comfort.

Afterwards, make a plan.

I don't mean, 'Get an army and go bully the bully."
Most people would assume so and when you're older, it may seem like the right thing but in reality, you are only causing more trouble. Especially for kids, you really just want to make sure they feel safe at school or wherever they are getting bullied wither it is the bus or even just walking home. Make sure you have a back-up plan like a "B" just in case it doesn't work or the bully doesn't listen.

If you are like my nephew who already told an adult at school, nothing is really being done, and your friends are also scared to help because they might get hurt, Tell someone like a family/relative you trust to come and talk to the school and parents of the bully. I know it may seem like a home stretch but I had to do this for him and I did tell my sister-in-law, of course, that I was doing this for my nephew. It may seem crazy but if in a high school situation this was happening, it just means you really have to tell you parents or siblings because in high school, you start to realize that, sometimes, not everyone will stop to help and maybe they will or won't but it really just depends.

The same is with cyber bullying. If you are being cyber bullied, you really have to think what is best for you by deleting your cyber bully. If that person still is bothering you somehow by telling lies to everyone about you, you just really have to stop whatever social networking you are doing wither it s Facebook, Twitter, or Tumblr for a while because if you keep adding gas to the fire, the fire will only keep growing. Bullies are like small flames. You don't want to add your own flame and gas to theirs because it will only get bigger. Sometimes, you have to stop and walk away. Don't let it get to you. If you have friends, ask them to help you if they can.

Bullying is so bad right now in our society today and it will only get worse if all we do is sit around and watch it happen right in front of our eyes. As a girl, I feel like bullying happens a lot with 'hating' or 'disliking' because someone has the better stuff or even looks better. I admit, I get bullied too from online more than I do in person because the internet 'shows us' from pictures and not from 'personality.'

I can't say that I am perfect and that you will be alright.
Everyone will have a different pace of healing and re-grouping themselves together. Even now, my nephew has grown a fear of answering question in the classroom and I don't blame him from after being bullied. For each person, it takes a different time to heal and re-adapt themselves again to society. What I can say  is that, one day, my nephew will be able to answer a question again in the classroom and I am not sure when that day comes but when it does, I am just going to be proud and happy for him.

I really wanted to talk about this in general because I've I feel like bullying is starting a lot younger now and not only that, this was they first time for me as a older teen/adult to see that even at school, the teachers or school took no action to help. It was actually really heartbreaking to see this happen in my community.

Review: Order&Purchase from Lensvillage.com [PART1/2]

Well, Hello Everybody!!
WARNING: Picture Heavy~
Happy Holidays, Happy Christmas, Merry Christmas, and much more!!!
I am spending my Holidays with my family and friends. How about everyone else?
Today's awesome post is about my circle lenses from Lensvillage.com which has quite a few variety of lens choices from GEO to iFairy. I actually like that they have the Kimchi series because I have been hearing a lot of great things about circle lenses and I really wanted to try it out for myself.
So here is my review and I am actually going to break this into 2 parts so please stay tune for that!!

Let me Begin!!
So, right before Christmas, I received my circle lenses I had ordered from Lensvillage.com which did take a lot longer than I thought because they were coming from Singapore. I ordered these lenses about 1 1/2-2 weeks ago so it is actually the right amount of time it should or might have taken. You can pay more for a faster shipping but to be honest, my order was free shipping and I had time to spare/wait, so I just kind of took the free shipping anyways.

The package came within a Plastic Wrap which makes it look very complete and together. This really makes me feel like they took the time to arrange the order and ship the  package out. It also came with lens cases so that I can put the circle lenses in them.

COMES WITH: Lens Cases, Circle Lenses which is wrapped safely and secured, Business Card, and a Care Instruction to wear and care for Circle Lenses for first time users.

The lens cases were animal shapes and it also came with their business card which is very helpful on contacting, following, and for their site. The business card is very cute and colorful which is very eye catching to me because I love cute things. The animal cases were super cute and also came in their own plastic wrap so you know that they are new and ready to be cleaned and use.
I had gotten a yellow fish, pink pig, and a blue bear for lens case.

Now for the Circle Lenses.
I love how they really secured the circle lenses and wrapped them safe. They also secured it with tape so that the circle lenses don't fall out and that is brilliant and awesome. I am glad that my circle lenses came to me shipped safely.

I ordered 3 pairs of circle lenses. They had this awesome deal on GEO lenses and so I took the opportunity and advantage to pay about $6.50 cheaper for GEO circle lenses and and then I really wanted to try the Kimchi Series so I ordered a pair from that series. The GEO lenses have the 'Authenticity' sticker and I am very sure that the kimichi series from Lensvillage is REAL and safe for the eyes.
The circle lenses I ended up getting was the Princess MiMi Green Apple, GEO Olive/Honey Wing in Grey, and the Kimichi Viva Blue.

I am actually really excited to try the Kimchi Viva Blue lenses because I have been hearing a lot of GREAT things from this series. This series is a branch from the iFairy series.

In Conclusion....
I am happy to say that the shipping does take long depending on where you are located. If you want to check out how long it will take to reach you, please make sure that you check out their shipping/faq link for more information on that. For me personally, I don't mind waiting and waiting keeps me happy and excited to try these circle lenses!!

Overall, I have to say, it was worth the wait and I am happy to try these lenses to give you all a review. I am pretty sure there is a lot of reviews on these lenses but I just want to share my own personal experience on them with you but that is not until part 2 of my review.

I am officially off to bed since it is way way past my bedtime and I am pretty sure that my Boyfriend is not happy about since I am still up blogging about this. I am also very tired and tried very hard to edit the pictures to add font to them. I hope you all enjoy this post and stay tune for my video review and more but until then, I will be off resting as of right now.

First Home Decor Tag!

Hello friends,

Happy belated Halloween!  I hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween.   My husband and I spent the evening with my in-laws and had a terrific time.  We brought the firepit to the front of the house and gathered around it while we waited on the little (and not so little) ones to stop by for some delicious chocolate and candy.

Today I am doing my first tag!  I am excited to share a bit more about me and my home with you.  Normally, you have to be tagged by someone in order to participate (hence the name "tag"), but that didn't happen, so I decided to tag myself and here we are. Who says you have to follow the rules. :)

Let's begin with question numero 1.

1. Who do you live with?

A. I live with my wonderful husband of almost 7 years.

2. What is your favorite room in your house?

A.  My favorite room is the living room.  I like it the most because it's the first room you see when you walk in.  I've made every effort to make it as welcoming as possible, plus it gets the most natural light.  We have lots of wonderful memories with family and friends and it's the room I feel is most complete in our home.

3.  What is your favorite item in your house?

A.  This is a tough one.  I love so many items in my house (it's the way it should be, right?) but if I really had to narrow it down, then it would have to be our coffee table from World Market.

4.  Your biggest bargain purchase and where is it from?

A.  I don't own very expensive pieces as I love to decorate on a budget.  However, I do believe my husband and I scored big when we purchased our sofa from World Market.  I wanted to a white couch for our den but the ones I had my eye on where out of our price range.  So, in order to stay within budget yet still get the look I was after, we purchased this sofa for under $150.00.  It was the floor model, which meant it came assembled, and it was majorly discounted but there was nothing wrong with it. :)

5.  What is the coolest thing in your house?

A.  I really like this little side table from HomeGoods.  If you have seen any of my other home decor hauls, then you are fully aware of my slight obsession with this place.  I chose this table because it's different from anything else I own and so pretty.

6.  What is the most expensive item in your house?

A.  Like I said before, I don't own a lot of expensive pieces.  If I had to choose one piece it would have to be our sofa set in our main living room.  This is by far the most expensive purchase.

7.  What is your most stylish decor/DIY item?  One you are most proud of?

A.  I love reading/watching anything DIY.  They are my favorite blog posts to read, yet I don't have many myself.  Sometimes the thought of actually messing up a project really tricks my mind, does that happen to you?  Am I alone on this?  One project I did complete and is by far my absolute favorite is my DIY chalkboard.  It was one of my very first posts on this little blog of mine (here).  I use it so much and still love it to this day!

8.  Show one item from Ikea?

A.  Surprisingly enough, I don't own any items from Ikea.  Is this shocking?  I'm not sure.  The closest Ikea is about 3.5 hours from where I live so that may be the reasons why.  The question should be rephrased to "Show one item from HomeGoods or Target".  Now we're talking!

9.  What is your favorite homeware stores?

A.  My favorite stores to shop for my home are HomeGoods, Target, World Market, Pottery Barn, and Joss and Main (online only).

10.  What is your favorite home decor item?

A.  This is by far the most difficult question because I really love *almost* everything in my home.  What I don't love will soon find another home and be replaced with something that I do love.  I believe that your home should be a reflection of who you as a person and as a family.  I love surrounding myself with items that make my life a little happier and comfortable.  I love coming home and feeling content and at "home".  However, these are a few items that make me appreciate my home that much more.

That's it!  I hope you enjoyed this little tag.  I tag everyone one of you!  Please let me know if you do this tag as I would love to learn more about you.

Until next time,
Karina
